The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.
SASSA might be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency reported it really is alarmed with regard to the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is here no fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The service issue established for intervention activities a higher inflow of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tricky to the office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more means to allow the servicing of all prospects and enhance usage of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
